Is straight perm right service for you?

One of the popular services in our salon is straight perm. Hawaii can get humid during certain season. Even if you have a nice hair, the humidity can make your daily hair styling very difficult. What is ‘Straight Perm’? And what does it do on your hair?

Unlike Keratin treatment or Brazilian blowouts, this service is a permanent hair straightening service. Permanent meaning, until you grow out the hair and cut off the part that has been treated and straightened. This technique needs a lot of attention to details and combines the use of chemicals and heat to reform the hair bond to make it straight.

Is straight perm damaging? Answer is yes. It can be damaging if you’re not familiar with using the chemical properly. Please don’t try it at home! A technique that has originated from Japan and Korea, hence the name “Japanese straight perm” or “Magic Perm”.

Ideal service for those who have.. - frizzy, wavy, curly hair/ hard to manage hair /no previous bleach or future plans to bleach their hair /tried keratin treatment but want to enjoy having manageable hair that’s perfectly straight all the time.

It’s recommended that if you have any plans on coloring the hair to do it after as the chemical can lighten the hair slightly. Or go a shade darker if you plan to color prior.

It’s NOT recommended to bleach hair after or do any chemical service on bleached hair as it is very damaging and can even fry the hair!!
